What makes Camp Eagle Ridge different from other camps?

Camp Eagle Ridge is a boys and girls leadership camp located in Mellen, Wisconsin. Our mission is to develop strong leaders, healthy living skills, and a sense of community responsibility.

We combine a traditional summer camp experience with a focus on leadership, decision making and achieving your personal best!

At Camp Eagle Ridge, you choose your activities on a daily basis. You're in charge of your camp experience.

We serve children ages 7 - 17 and offer sessions ranging from 1-7 weeks in length. Our campers come from all over the United States and all over the world. We have truly amazing kids that attend our camp.

What does it mean to be a "Leadership Camp"?

At Camp Eagle Ridge, we are very intentional about the way we teach leadership. The first activity of each day is a leadership workshop. The workshops focus on creativity, decision making, problem solving, leadership styles, character and more. The workshops are very hands-on and game and activity driven. Campers are busy doing...creating...building...exploring and experiencing.

Beyond the leadership workshops, leadership is the focus throughout our activities. For example, canoeing is the perfect time to talk about partnership. We can stress the importantance of communication during basketball, etc. While skill develoment within the activity is important, we put emphasis on leadership development through our activities.

Campers can expect to learn to work from their strengths. For example, if a camper is normally quiet in a group, he or she is usually listening to what is being said and we will teach them how to "synthesize" what is being said and help bring the group to consensus. Conversely, we give campers an opportunity to experience working from from a "less comfortable" place. For example, if a campers typically takes a backseat in a group situation, we give them an opportunity to be in charge and learn to direct a team.

Family Discounts

2011 Registration is now available! We are offering a family discount this year of $50.00 per week for each additional child. For example, the first child at the early registration tuition would be $600.00 per week; the second $550.00 per week and the third $500.00 per week.

2011 Registration is now available!!!

What a wonderful summer! So many good things happened. Once again, Camp Eagle Ridge went through the American Camp Association accreditation process and didn't miss a standard!

Look for an article in the November issue of Camping Magazine about "Developing and Keeping Great Counselors" written by our director, Kelly Byrnes. It is a testament to our wonderful staff and our very high staff retention rate.

Announcing "Camper Of The Year - 2010"! The Camper Of The Year award goes to the camper that most embodies the values of friendship, leadership and indomitable spirit. This year, the award goes to Kristina Rossi! Runners up included: Robby Llewellyn, Jean May, Kimmy Crabb & Savannah Koszela. Congratulations to all - you should be very proud!
